Steve Berger is always in the hot seat working for communities! Steve is a 1971 Motion Picture graduate who is currently working on videography projects for the Long Beach Fire Department Video Unit, The Fire Channel, Public Safety educational channel, and the Department of Homeland Security. He is very successful and loves what he does.
"One specialty is shooting video of major Fire Department Incidents for news and internal fire training." As you can see from the picture above, Steve gets up close in the line of action!
Picture to right: This is the second or third day of the La Conchita incident. The Governer arrived via helicopter, travelled up the landslide where the USAR team was still franticly digging for survivors.
Steve was the official incident photographer for OES at the La Conchita mudslide. He shot most of the close up on scene video for the local, national, and world news reports.
"My camera was the news feed for the memorial and the LBFD Video Unit taped edited and made DVD's of the post incident analysis for the rescuers involved."
Steve contributes his success to Brooks: "Brooks prepared me for success in the huge variety of photo assignments and clients I've encountered. After graduating and working a short time in the film industry I started a production company and photo studio in Los Angeles. Assignments ranged from TV commercials and magazine work to large format interiors and architecture. When I progressed into new fields my Brooks education was an excellent foundation to add to education in video engineering and computer science."
